KAATSHEUVEL – Champagne tower builder Luuk Broos from Kaatsheuvel has improved his own world record. He stacked 50,166 champagne glasses on Wednesday evening in Madrid, again good for a mention at Guinness World Records. This is reported by Omroep Brabant.

The world record was not yet broken when the last glass was placed on the almost 7.5 meter high tower. The tower still had to be ‘blessed’ with a magnum bottle of champagne. Had the champagne not flowed smoothly through the pyramid, the record would have been invalid. “Fortunately it all went well. This is the best thing I have experienced in forty years of business.”

Broos already had a mention at Guinness. His old official record was 43,680 glasses. He established this in 2008 in Antwerp. The entrepreneur improved his record in Madrid at the request of a champagne giant.
